Incredible strength and durability
"SALTIGA" has made many dreams come true for anglers aiming for bigger fish.
In 2020, SALTIGA debuts with the overwhelming strength and durability required for SALTIGA. With
a tough monocoque body, a drag with excellent heat dissipation and durability, smooth and torquey winding performance, and stress-free casting performance, this is the strongest spinning reel in the series' history.
Reborn through the pursuit of Daiwa technology, the 20 SALTIGA is sure to be a powerful weapon for anglers who continue to take on new challenges.

The reliable "MAGSEALED" waterproof structure, combined with MQ,
achieves the highest level of waterproof performance ever, and the combination with the tightly wrapped "Tough Digigear"
brings anglers the best advantage of "Saltiga's highest level of actual fishing durability in history".
The ATD (Automatic Drag System), which has been forged through fierce battles with numerous monsters over 100 kg both at home and abroad,
has a radiation structure with a large-diameter aluminum machine-cut drag knob and boasts high levels of heat resistance and durability.
Top anglers at home and abroad are amazed by the increased casting distance and trouble-free performance of the "Long Cast ABS".
The "High-rigidity Aluminum Air Rotor" combines high strength and low inertia at a high level.
Experience the stability in high drag fights and the winding sensitivity in jigging.
The H model, which is mainly for casting, uses an egg, and the P model, which is mainly for jigging, uses a round lightweight aluminum machine-cut handle knob.

Equipped with large diameter gears that significantly increase strength
When you're at your limit, will your reel be able to withstand it?
Not having to worry about this is a huge advantage.
With the 20 Saltiga,
the gears have been made larger and thicker thanks to the monocoque body, which has significantly increased their strength.
The synergistic effect of the monocoque body, which is resistant to twisting and bending,
has made it more than twice as durable as the 15 Saltiga.
Compared to the 15 Saltiga, the outer diameter of the gear is increased by about 12% and the thickness by 55%. In addition, the tooth surface design has been completely revised and the meshing area with the pinion gear has been significantly increased, resulting in an unprecedented smooth rotation feeling in the history of Saltiga while also increasing the durability of the gear.
The monocoque body
dramatically changes the reel's performance.
The 20 Saltiga has a monocoque body. Unlike the conventional structure, which is
made up of two parts, the body and the body cover , the monocoque body is molded as a single piece, and the engine plate , which acts as a screw in itself, is screwed directly into the body. Since there is no need for screw holes to fasten the body cover, the space inside the body is larger than the conventional structure, making it possible to store stronger and larger gears.

With a monocoque body, the body itself has the rigidity of a frame, making it resistant to twisting and bending, while at the same time improving the gear support precision and airtightness.

MAGSEALED BALLBEARING
Magseal ball bearing
Following on from Magseal, Daiwa developed the Magseal ball bearing. By creating a wall of magnetic liquid in the gaps between the small parts called ball bearings that make the rotating parts smooth, seawater and foreign objects are prevented from entering. This successfully waterproofs the rotating parts. Unlike the previous waterproofing using rubber packing, the initial performance of the ball bearing can be maintained for a long time without worrying about tidal damage. The 20 Saltiga is equipped with one on each end of the drive gear, just like the 15 Saltiga. This significantly improves waterproofing and durability, while also achieving the light winding feel that is inherent to ball bearings.
Equipped with two Magseal ball bearings on the left and right of the drive gear, it provides reliable waterproofing and durability.
MAGSEALED LINE ROLLER
Magseal line roller
The line roller, which is directly exposed to seawater and sand picked up by the line, is one of the parts of the reel that is in the harshest environment. Such a line roller is also protected by Mag Sealed technology. By preventing the intrusion of seawater and foreign objects, it contributes greatly to maintaining the initial performance such as rotation feel and sensitivity. Furthermore, the improved rotation of the line roller also reduces problems such as line twisting.
Seawater can also damage the appearance of a reel. With the 20 Saltiga, we have completely redesigned the body and rotor, from surface preparation to painting, and have succeeded in significantly improving durability.

By adopting an aluminum air rotor,
we have achieved more than twice the flexural rigidity!
The 20 Saltiga aluminum air rotor has
more than twice the flexural rigidity of the 15 Saltiga Zion rotor.
It also has 1.5 times the breaking strength of the original Saltiga aluminum rotor.
Rotor strength test results. The degree of deflection when a load is applied is expressed by color, with the greater the deflection, the closer to red the color is displayed. The 20 Saltiga is mostly blue, while the 15 Saltiga is red, mainly around the veil arm support.

A new generation drag system that thoroughly pursues durability and heat dissipation
The 20 Saltiga uses a new drag system. The
number of washers has been increased from 6 on the 15 Saltiga to 14 on the 20 Saltiga.
At the same time, a newly designed drag knob that does not use plastic parts has been adopted, making it easier to release heat generated by the washers, significantly reducing washer seizure. This has achieved more than 10 times the durability.
The aluminum radiation drag knob has a larger diameter, improving heat dissipation and operability.

The temperature of the spool after the drag is pulled out. Improved heat dissipation reduces washer seizure and line deterioration due to heat.
The 15 Saltiga has 6 drag washers, while the 20 Saltiga has 14.

The lineup
includes 9 types and 5 sizes that cover offshore use for targeting large fish,
allowing you to choose the model that best suits your record-setting goals.
The handle knobs of the high gear and extra high gear are aluminum egg type, while the power gear is aluminum round type. Each is designed for casting and jigging.
